Shiorei kept her eyes peeled ahead as she walked next to Yukina. Just moments ago, they had received orders from their creator, Wakui to retrieve the one known as Thunder. As to why Wakui held interest in the boy wasn't her business, but she'd carry out the orders swiftly. She knew that alone, she did not have the power to apprehend the boy, but with Yukina aiding her, they'd soon have him in their hands and transported back to the ship.
There he was, just up ahead. He seemed to be meditating from above them in a tree, dangling from the branch. For a moment, she watched him, sizing up the opportunity to get this task moving. She glanced to Yukina and gave a nod of her head. Best to get this going now, before they lost the opportunity.
Something was wrong. Every sense within him tingled that there was danger and he needed to come out of his meditation right now. He snapped his eyes open. Looking down, he saw Shiorei and… his lips twisted into a frown and his brows crinkled inwardly. 'Yukino?' What was she doing there with one of Wakui's servants? He snapped himself awake, and didn't want to dwell on the matter, at least now while his mind screamed at him to dodge. He flipped right side up, and scrambled up right in the tree.
Running across trees was no arduous task for Thunder, and he was soon leaping from tree to tree, running along their branches, and swinging his way toward trees farther apart. He could not use his electrokinesis here in self defense, not when the woods were so very dry. One spark and the whole forest would go up. No. He needed to get some leeway between them and him, and find a safer spot to which engage his power. Still, the idea of Yukino being with Shiorei bothered him immensely. What was she doing with her? 'I have the feeling Wakui is behind this…'.
Yukina did not ask why the master wanted Thunder so badly, nor did she care. She was incapable of complex emotions such as curiosity. The only emotion that filled her was the desire to fulfill her mission, and that was how she had been created. She had heard Wakui say more than once that he had created her because Shiorei was flawed. She felt, something Wakui had not anticipated or desired. She followed her orders, yes, but for how long? Even Yukina, the hollow being that she was, was able to see the problems associated with independent thought and feeling. Though really, that too was probably just an idea that had been programmed into her.
The second that she saw Thunder take off Yukina reacted, following one of the many plans of action that had been programmed into her mind. Closing her eyes she dissolved into mist, reappearing a bit ahead of Thunder. As she opened her cold grey eyes she bent down to press her hand against the ground. Almost immediately it began to grow cold, freezing to sub zero temperatures. Under her control the ice spread, growing into an immense wall behind her, spreading to the sides so that it would surround the entire area. The wall towered over the nearby trees, and even with Thunder's jumping ability he would not find it so easy to escape its confines. Her breath visible now, she began to freeze the ground, spreading out a thin sheet of ice in all directions.
Shiorei narrowed her eyes the moment Thunder took off running into the trees. Yukina was already carrying out phase one of the plan. They had been warned that Thunder could move through trees like a monkey, a very swift one at that. Determined to fulfill her master's wishes, she formed ice shards four inches thick and launched them at Thunder. The shards traveled very quickly, fueled by the freezing temperature that Yukina fused, zipping through branches until they struck the back of Thunder's legs. He was shivering, slowly down.
The moment the shards struck him, she heard him cry out, and fall to the ground. This was it. She moved in. He was getting up, and she could see the red glow of his aura, and the strange symbol flashing in his forehead. He was healing himself. At the same time, the sky turned dark suddenly and her hairs on her arms raised. The electrical field around them was activating, lightning above crackled. They had to act now. She launched an icy form of chains at him, tightly wrapping them around his ankles.
Thunder shivered from the cold that came about far too quickly. Now more than ever he was convinced that was Yukino. Why was she attacking him though? Was this a sick joke? No, Yukino didn't joke, and she had once told him she used to work for Wakui. She must have gone back to him, or something. It boggled his mind, and he had no time to think of a plausible answer that would tell him anything. Right now, escape was on his mind. The other girl wasn't helping matters, either. With two ice users, it was going to be difficult to defeat them, particularly when he already felt so very cold.
Suddenly, he felt a stinging pain in the back of his legs. He yelped, and fell out of the trees. Landing roughly on the ground, he ripped the shards out of his legs and took a moment to heal himself. That did it. He had no choice. Despite not feeling comfortable using his electrokinesis, with the ice forming around them, it should also be able to prevent a forest fire, and he could still use it to defend himself. He summoned his power.
It formed above them, growing quickly. If he concentrated enough, he could strike them both down at the same time. He shivered, and concentrated harder. Lightning cracked in the sky. Then suddenly, there were chains about his ankles, binding them tightly together. The ice that formed around him on the ground caused him to slip. He tried to catch his balance, but it was no good. He landed with a thud, cracking the back of his head off the ground. He seethed, and slowly pulled himself up, his healing power again kicking in. Moving fast now, he hurriedly began to try to rip off the icy chains.
The other clone approached the warrior, her expression as blank as ever. He may be strong, but he wasn't nearly strong enough to get away from them. The master wanted him, and he would get his wish. She knew that he believed that she was Yukino, the woman she was born from. Wakui had made her physically identical. Her appearance was where the similarity ended. He had ensured that Yukina's powers, though technically the same as Yukino's, were infinitely stronger. And without feeling she was able to use them with a cold precision that brought chills to even her master; his words.
"You're coming with us," she said coldly as she watched him. Waving a hand the ice shackles strengthened, expanding so that they covered his entire lower legs. In the same movement another pair formed on his arms, locking them behind his back. She knew that the icy constraints would cause him physical pain, but did not care. They had been authorized to hurt him as much as necessary to capture him, and that is exactly what she would do if need be. She turned her eyes to Shiorei. "The necklace," she murmured. "The master is waiting. We cannot delay."
Shiorei quickly brought out the faraday necklace. The necklace had been designed by Wakui, to ensure that Thunder would not and could not use his electrokinesis. She quickly put it around his neck and secured it, activating the mechanism that would prevent it from being taken off. At once, the lightning stopped and the sky suddenly cleared.
She watched him struggle, like a desperate wild animal in a cage. She was unmoved by any pity. Pity was something not put into her, and she could be quite ruthless and cold hearted when she wanted to be. She seized him up the collar of his shirt. "She is right. You are coming with us. Fighting is futile." She held him firmly and nodded at Yukina, and teleported them to Wakui's ship, the Necromancer's Fury.
Thunder growled, unable to move at all. His heart pounded in his chest. Despite trying to struggle, he could not break off the ice and free his arms and legs. And now, he couldn't use his power suddenly. It dawned on him quickly. The necklace! There was only one thing he could do. Shout for help. The moment he went to though, a strange pulling sensation surrounded his insides, and suddenly he was on some type of small cruise ship. He stiffened. No!
What were they thinking? He struggled more, twisting and turning his body, and managing to jump up and down. Pain lanced through his limbs and tore at his muscles, but he didn't care. Not this time. He had to escape, somehow. He nearly pulled Shiorei with him, but then he suddenly stopped when his eyes caught sight of him. He narrowed his eyes, thinking only one word. 'Bastard.'
Wakui waited patiently aboard the Necromancer's Fury, awaiting the clones' return. He knew better than anyone that Thunder would not be escaping them. They were both far more powerful than he was. He may have lightning on his side, but so long as he couldn't kill, he would never be able to win. As for Wakui himself, well... He had learned long ago how to master death. He had named his ship Necromancer's Fury for a reason, after all. He chuckled. Besides, seeing a friendly face betray him must have caught him off guard. Or perhaps he had expected her 'betrayal'. That would be downright delicious if it was true.
His eyes glinted dangerously as the three materialized. A soft, terrible laughed escaped his lips as he approached them, his boots thudding on the wooden slats beneath his feet. "Thank you Shiorei, Yukino. Right on time." He would let Thunder believe that Yukino had betrayed him as long as possible. He didn't want to spoil that particular brand of hurt prematurely. Taking a drag on his cigarette he looked down at the chained boy. "Yukino. Take him to his room. Shiorei, go tell the captain that we're ready to set sail." He grinned menacingly at the boy.
Yukina stood silently as Wakui examined the boy. When he addressed her she nodded. "Yes, master." Bending down slightly she grabbed Thunder by the back of the necklace and pulled, yanking him up to his feet. She melted the ice around his legs so that she could pull him across the deck of the ship and down a short stairway to the lower deck. She didn't speak again as she led him through the belly of the ship, empty and deserted looking, to a corridor lined with doors. Stopping at one near the end she opened it before shoving the boy roughly inside of it.
The room was simply furnished; a bed, a dresser, and a lamp. At the far end was another door which led to a small bathroom. Both were windowless and had nothing that could be used as a weapon. "...you will not be able to escape. This room is completely sealed." Wakui was no fool. He had made sure to completely insulate it so that no signals could go or leave, except for the hidden cameras he had placed. The air duct led to Wakui's own room and nowhere else, and the door was equipped with an electronic sensor that would electrocute him if he tried to open it. Though of course it would be locked as well.
Shiorei nodded once and walked to the captain's port. There she informed him they were ready to set sail. She watched impassively as he made ready to set sail, and the orders carried out quickly. She glanced out the window. They were pulling away from the docks and moving across the ocean. It would take weeks to get to where Wakui was going, but here in the ocean there was little to worry about. No one would be able to find Thunder.
Her orders fulfilled, she left the captain and went to complete other small tasks that she was to do after the capture of the boy. She completed them without thought. The capture of the boy had been easy, but had he been stronger, she was certain she and Yukina would have more trouble. She shivered to think of that, but it was soon over with, and she went back to zero concern.
Thunder's eyes darted over the room, taking quick note of everything quickly, except the hidden cameras. The room was small, but he'd have room to move about. He intently studied the air duct, wondering where it might lead to. For now, he was too exhausted and very cold to even deal with trying to escape. Somehow he'd have to find a way to reach others, maybe through telepathy. 'Should have done that to begin with,' he bitterly thought.
He walked further into the room, staring down at the bed with its simplicity. There was one blanket and one pillow. He snorted and turned away from it. No escape, Yukino said. He seethed. Somehow he'd find a way out. Not even Wakui could hold him for very long. He refused to even speak to Yukino, now deciding to ignore her very presence. For now, he'd rest and then form a plan. It was all he could do.
Hearing a knock on the door a few minutes later Yukina opened it, stepping aside to allow her master to enter the room. He whispered a few words to her, after which she nodded and promptly left to take care of his orders. Once the door to the cabin was shut she closed her eyes and willed herself to the final destination; a cabin deep in the wooded mountains of China. A location completely shut off from everything around it, unknown to anyone but the master and his servants. What's more was that it was completely invisible if someone tried to find it from above, and was protected by a force field.
Once there she set about her chores, making sure that everything would be all ready for them once they arrived some weeks later. She would have to return right before their arrival to stock the food supplies, but for now everything else needed to be set up. Cameras, lab equipment, radar equipment, and various other supplies that would be the things that would soon enough haunt the boy's waking mind.
Once Yukina was gone Wakui smirked as he watched Thunder. "Beautiful, isn't she? It was easy enough to make her mine." All it took was a bit of genetic engineering. Not that difficult, since he had already created Shiorei. It had taken several weeks, but, well, how else was he supposed to spend his time? Doing the work the government gave him? Preposterous. That had taken him less than a day to complete. Those incompetent fools trusted him far more than they should. They had no idea what he was doing with his free time, nor did they care. They turned a blind eye to all of his questionable activities in order to keep him on their payroll. One had to love being valuable.
"Though I must say, you are also quite beautiful to me. I am most looking forward to our time together. It will be quite... memorable." That was something he would make sure of. Thunder would not forget any of what was to come for the rest of his life. Wakui would make sure of that.
Thunder curled his lips in disgust. If anyone needed to be on a list of pedophiles it was Wakui. There was no telling what the man would do, and not knowing put him at a great disadvantage. It didn't help that his arms were still encased in ice behind his back. His thoughts turned to Yukino and the heat of his glare intensified. What a fool he was. Now suddenly he hadn't cared that he had once hurt her badly.
Though, now he could not, no thanks to Wakui. He moved backward, away from Wakui and looked for a source of definite heat to melt the ice off his arms. He was already so very cold, and he'd be lucky if he didn't catch a cold. "It won't be as memorable when I find a way out. Even if I cannot escape, sooner or later I won't be under your control and held prisoner."
If he had managed to escape that one time, he could do it again. All he needed was to think better, if that were possible. He did not doubt that Wakui had gone through arduous tasks to ensure his limited ability, and he knew very well for now he'd not be able to escape. At least not right away.
